Cast Iron Surface Plate,also known as cast iron flat plate,can be used as a measurement benchmark for checking the flatness,parallelism,straightness and other geometric tolerances of mechanical parts.It can also be used for marking and measuring parts,experiments,riveting,welding,foundations,workbenches,etc.The working surface of Cast Iron Surface Plate(flat plate)adopts scraping and grinding technology,and the working surface can be designed with circular holes,rectangular holes,square holes,T-shaped grooves,U-shaped grooves,V-shaped grooves,etc.
The Cast Iron Surface Plate is a flat reference measuring tool suitable for workpiece and equipment inspection,marking,assembly,welding,assembly,and riveting.It is widely used in industries such as mechanical manufacturing,chemical engineering,hardware,aerospace,petroleum,automotive manufacturing,and instrument manufacturing.
The appearance of the Cast Iron Surface Plate is basically box type,with rectangular,square,circular and other working surfaces.The materials are HT200-300,QT400-600,and the scraping process is used.V-shaped,T-shaped,U-shaped grooves,dovetail grooves,circular holes,long holes,etc.can be machined on the working surface.It is a flat reference measuring tool used for workpiece and equipment inspection,marking,assembly,welding,assembly,riveting and welding.

Factors affecting the performance of Cast Iron Surface Plates:
The quality of cast iron and heat treatment on the Cast Iron Surface Plate have a significant impact on the performance of the flat plate,or the working surface may deform due to residual large internal stresses;Or due to the inability to maintain accuracy;Or due to difficulty in scraping,roughness with small values cannot be obtained.Therefore,when using cast iron plates,attention should be paid to the selection of cast iron materials,and methods such as aging treatment should be used to reduce residual stress in cast iron plates.
Structural characteristics of Cast Iron Surface Plate:
Cast Iron Surface Plates are divided into ribbed plate and box type according to their structure;Divided by purpose into inspection flat plate,marking flat plate,and sand pressing flat plate;According to the accuracy level,the tablets are divided into 00,0,1,2,and 3 levels,with level 2 and above being the inspection tablets and level 3 being the marking tablets.The overall specification of the Cast Iron Surface Plate is 4 meters by 8 meters.If it is larger than this specification,multiple pieces can be spliced together.After wear and tear,it can be re scraped to restore its accuracy.The flatness of the parts can be inspected by painting method,which has the advantages of accuracy,intuitiveness,and convenience.Pushing the gauge seat and workpiece smoothly on the scraped cast iron flat plate without any rough feeling,facilitates measurement and improves measurement accuracy.In addition,we need to pay special attention to the fact that the working surface of the Cast Iron Surface Plate should not have rust,scratches,bumps,or other appearance defects that affect its use.
Inspection standards for Cast Iron Surface Plates:
Our inspection of Cast Iron Surface Plates mainly focuses on their flatness and flatness error,where flatness refers to the deviation of the macroscopic concave convex height of the substrate from the ideal plane.The tolerance zone is the area between two parallel planes at a distance of the tolerance value t.Flatness belongs to shape error in form and position error.Normally,we use the coloring method to inspect Cast Iron Surface Plates.The 0-level and 1-level tablet platforms shall have no less than 25 points within a range of 25 millimeters square on each side.The second level tablet platform shall have no less than 20 points within a range of 25 millimeters square on each side.The 3-level tablet platform shall have no less than 12 points within a range of 25 millimeters square on each side.
Material of Cast Iron Surface Plate:
The material is mainly cast iron,and the hardness of the HT200-250 working face is HB160-210.After two treatments(manual annealing at 600-700 degrees or natural aging for 2-3 years),the accuracy of the Cast Iron Surface Plate is stabilized and its performance is good.Carbon mainly exists in the form of flake graphite,with a gray fracture surface,abbreviated as gray iron.Low melting point(1145-1250℃),small shrinkage during solidification,compressive strength and hardness close to carbon steel,good shock absorption.Due to the presence of flake graphite,it has good properties.The casting performance and cutting processing are good,and its grade is marked with"HT"followed by two sets of numbers.
