CNC machine bed castings are the basic components of machine tools, usually made of cast iron. The design and manufacturing of bed castings have a decisive impact on the overall performance of machine tools. In modern manufacturing, CNC machine tools are widely used due to their excellent performance, therefore, the quality of bed castings is particularly important.

The machine tool bed body castings are made of delicate gray cast iron HT200-HT300, with a higher tensile and bending strength ratio, making your purchase worry free. Heat treatment process reduces the stress and deformation of castings to a small degree. Persistent use tends to remain unchanged.

Characteristics of machine tool bed castings:

1. Good wear resistance and shock absorption. Due to the favorable lubrication and oil storage properties of graphite in cast iron, it has good wear resistance. Similarly, due to the superior shock absorption properties of graphite compared to steel.

2. Good process performance. Due to its high carbon content and eutectic composition, gray cast iron has a relatively low melting point, good flowability, and low shrinkage rate, making it suitable for casting complex or thin-walled castings. In addition, due to the tendency of graphite to form chips during cutting, the machinability of gray cast iron is superior to that of steel. Characteristics and Manufacturing Process of CNC Machine Bed Castings

CNC machine bed castings are usually manufactured using resin sand or lost foam solid casting processes, which can produce large single piece castings, such as castings weighing over 40 tons. The material of castings is generally fine and delicate gray cast iron (HT200-HT300), which has good physical and processing properties, such as high tensile strength and bending strength, as well as excellent shock absorption and machinability.

9 Technical requirements for painting process

1. Before painting the bed frame casting, it is necessary to inspect the bed frame casting, use tools to trim the uneven surface, and remove any dirt on the surface.

2. After mechanical processing, the bed frame castings must be rinsed or brushed with metal cleaning agents or clean industrial gasoline before painting to ensure the removal of surface oil and other dirt.

3. The primer should be evenly brushed, sprayed, and soaked. Before use, the primer must be thoroughly mixed and diluted to an appropriate age before application.

4. The atomic ash used to fill the concave part of the casting should be added with an appropriate amount of curing agent according to the product instructions, and must be thoroughly stirred before use.

5. If vinyl chloride is used to fill the depression of the bed casting, the thickness of each scraping should not be too thick. The scraping thickness is generally around 0.5 millimeters, and each scraping must wait for the material to dry before proceeding.

6. After filling the concave part of the bed casting with vinyl chloride, it must be dried before polishing. After each polishing, the surface slurry and dust need to be removed.

7. Use water grinding technology for polishing. To prevent rust on the surface of machine tool castings after processing, rust proof water needs to be used for polishing.

After polishing, if there is any exposed metal, it is necessary not to apply the matching primer.

9. After the putty is polished and cleaned, a second coat of vinyl chloride primer needs to be sprayed to improve the smoothness and gloss of the paint film.

The following operation guidelines should be strictly followed when pouring the castings of the CNC machine bed:

1. The casting personnel of CNC machine bed castings must wear work clothes and protective goggles as required, and the work site should be unobstructed. The metal liquid inside the ladle should not be overfilled to avoid spilling and injuring people during transportation and pouring.

2. Pouring bags, pouring tools, inoculants and spheroidizing agents used for furnace pre-treatment must be thoroughly dried before use, and can only be used after drying.

3. To ensure the quality of machine tool castings during pouring, the gas emitted from the mold should be ignited in a timely manner to prevent the formation of air holes due to mold holding, as well as damage to human health and air pollution caused by gas non combustion.

4. For machine tool castings with large liquid shrinkage and solidification shrinkage, such as medium and large cast steel parts, timely pouring should be carried out from the sprue or riser after pouring.

5. To improve productivity and ensure safe production, the correct pouring speed should be selected, that is, pouring should be done slowly at the beginning to facilitate alignment with the sprue.
