The smooth go-no-go ring gauge is a special measuring tool used to check whether the outer diameter size of cylindrical workpieces meets the tolerance requirements.It consists of two parts:a go gauge and a no-go gauge,and belongs to a type of limit gauge.It can quickly determine whether a workpiece is within the qualified range and is widely used in the quality inspection link of mass production.

Its structure is usually in the shape of a ring or sleeve.The inner hole size of the go gauge is equal to the maximum material size of the workpiece(i.e.,upper deviation),ensuring that the maximum size of a qualified workpiece can pass through smoothly;the inner hole size of the no-go gauge is equal to the minimum material size of the workpiece(i.e.,lower deviation),which is used to limit the minimum size of the workpiece,and a qualified workpiece should not be able to pass through the no-go gauge.The working surface is processed by precision grinding and lapping,with a surface roughness of up to Ra0.02μm,and the inner hole size tolerance is strictly controlled within IT3-IT5 grades,ensuring the reliability of measurement accuracy.

In terms of material,smooth go-no-go ring gauges are mostly made of high-carbon tool steel(such as T10A)or alloy tool steel(such as Cr12MoV).After quenching,their hardness can reach HRC60-65,with excellent wear resistance and dimensional stability.Some high-precision ring gauges will also undergo low-temperature aging treatment to eliminate quenching stress and avoid dimensional drift during long-term use.

When in use,it is necessary to first clean the outer circle of the workpiece and the inner hole of the ring gauge to avoid impurities affecting the detection results.Put the go gauge on the workpiece;if it can pass smoothly without obvious jamming,it indicates that the workpiece size does not exceed the maximum limit;then try to put the no-go gauge on;if the no-go gauge cannot be put on or can only be partially put on,the workpiece is judged to be qualified.This judgment principle of"go gauge passes,no-go gauge does not pass"is simple and intuitive to operate,without the need to read specific values,which greatly improves the detection efficiency.

Smooth go-no-go ring gauges are suitable for detecting the outer dimensions of cylindrical workpieces such as shaft parts,bolts,and cylindrical pins.They are important tools to ensure product interchangeability in industries such as automobile manufacturing,mechanical processing,and bearing production,and are especially suitable for rapid quality screening in production lines.
