Thread Plug Gauge

Thread plug gauge is a tool for measuring the accuracy of internal thread dimensions. This plug gauge can be divided into three types: regular coarse thread, fine thread, and pipe thread. Thread plug gauges with a pitch of 0.35 millimeters or less and a second level accuracy or higher, as well as thread plug gauges with a pitch of 0.8 millimeters or less and a third level accuracy, do not have end gauges. Thread plug gauges below 100mm are taper shank thread plug gauges. A double threaded plug gauge with a diameter of over 100 millimeters.

Instructions for using thread plug gauge

Before use: The thread plug gauge should be inspected and measured by relevant inspection and measurement institutions before being put into use on the production site.

When using: It should be noted that the tolerance grade and deviation code of the tested thread are the same as those marked on the thread plug gauge.

Inspection and measurement process

1. Firstly, clean up the oil stains and impurities on the thread being tested. Then, after aligning the thread plug gauge with the thread being tested, use your thumb and index finger to rotate the ring gauge to make it fit through the entire length of the thread in a free state, otherwise it will not be judged.

2. Before use, it should be inspected and measured by relevant inspection and measurement institutions to ensure that the measurement is qualified. Then, after aligning the thread plug gauge with the measured thread, use the thumb and index finger to rotate the ring gauge. If the length of the threaded thread is within 2 pitches, it is considered qualified. Otherwise, it is judged as unqualified.

After using the thread plug gauge, the attachments on the measuring part should be cleaned up in a timely manner and stored in the designated measuring tool box. The measuring tools on the production site should be placed in the designated position of the process, handled gently to prevent damage to the measuring surface due to collision. It is strictly prohibited to forcefully screw measuring tools into threads as cutting tools to avoid early wear and ensure the accuracy of the measuring tools.
