The 3D welding platform welding fixture is a key tool for achieving precise positioning and stable clamping of workpieces in modern welding operations. With modular design and multi-dimensional adjustment functions, it is widely used in fields such as automotive manufacturing, engineering machinery, and steel structure processing. Its core structure consists of a high-strength cast iron platform (mostly HT300 gray cast iron) and adjustable fixture components. The platform surface is covered with regularly arranged positioning holes (commonly M16, M20 threaded holes) and T-shaped grooves, providing a flexible installation reference for the fixture components. It can quickly combine and adapt to the positioning scheme according to the shape of the workpiece.
The significant advantage of this type of fixture lies in its high-precision adjustment capability in three-dimensional space. By adjusting the height of the support column (with an accuracy of up to 0.05mm), the angle of the positioning pin (with a fine adjustment range of ± 1 °), and the pressure of the clamp (adjustable from 0-50kN), three-dimensional positioning of complex workpieces can be achieved, ensuring that the assembly gap of the welding seam is controlled within 0-1mm, greatly reducing welding deformation caused by positioning deviation. The flatness error of the platform itself is ≤ 0.05mm/1000mm, and the positional tolerance of adjacent positioning holes is ± 0.1mm, providing a basic guarantee for the overall positioning accuracy.
In terms of material selection, the platform body is made of aged gray cast iron, which has good rigidity and shock absorption. The surface has been quenched (hardness ≥ HB220) to resist wear during long-term use; The fixture components are mostly made of quenched and tempered 45 steel, and the key parts (such as locating pins and clamping claws) are chrome plated on the surface to improve wear resistance and rust prevention ability. Some heavy-duty 3D welding platforms will also use cast steel materials, with a load-bearing capacity of over 50 tons, to meet the welding needs of large structural components.
During use, the 3D welding platform fixture achieves rapid changeover through standardized interfaces, and a set of platforms can be compatible with welding multiple workpieces, reducing changeover time to 1/5 of traditional specialized fixtures. Combined with laser marking instruments or 3D measurement systems, real-time verification of positioning accuracy can be achieved, ensuring that the dimensional tolerance of welded parts is controlled within IT12 level. In addition, the anti rust coating and sealing design on the platform surface can adapt to the high temperature and splashing environment of the welding workshop, with a service life of more than 10 years.
Compared with traditional welding fixtures, the flexibility of 3D welding platform fixtures is particularly prominent. They can meet the customized production of small batches and multiple varieties, and can also achieve efficient mass production through automation integration (such as matching with robot welding systems). They are important supporting equipment for the development of welding automation and precision.
